In a world where polarization seems to be the order of the day, where biases and prejudices often cloud our judgment and divide us, it’s more crucial than ever to embrace a spirit of unity and love. We find ourselves increasingly glued to our own beliefs and associations, often at the expense of our humanity.

Polarization blinds us to the humanity in others. It causes us to view the world through narrow lenses, where those who don’t share our beliefs are seen as adversaries rather than fellow human beings. This bias hinders our ability to empathize and understand one another, leading to a breakdown in communication and compassion.

But inside this division, there is a chance of hope: prayer. When we pray for everybody, we overcome the barriers of polarization, beliefs and bias. We recognize the real worth and dignity of every individual, regardless of their beliefs or affiliations. We acknowledge our shared humanity and our interconnectedness as members of the human family.

Prayer is a powerful force for healing and reconciliation. It opens our hearts to love and compassion, allowing us to see beyond our differences and reach out to one another in kindness and understanding. It reminds us that we are all part of something greater than ourselves, and that we have a responsibility to uplift and support one another, especially in times of division and strife.

So let us pray for everybody, with sincerity and humility. Let us pray for those who are different from us, for those who are struggling, for those who are suffering. Let us pray for understanding, for peace, and for unity. And let us remember the words of my father, who said, “I’m praying for everybody.” Because in the end, it is through prayer that we can overcome polarization and division, and embrace the true essence of our shared humanity
