Brothers and sisters, today I want to speak to you about something of deep significance—the importance of understanding who we are, where we come from, and how that knowledge shapes our future. It’s a truth that has been hidden for far too long, but the time has come for us to reclaim our rightful identity as the original people, connected to the ancient Hebrews and the biblical story of the people of Israel.

In the beginning, when we open the Bible, we see that God created humanity in His own image. And when we look at the biblical lineage, we find that the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the children of Israel—are not a distant, foreign people but our direct ancestors. We, the original black man, have a rich and deep connection to these Afro-Asiatic roots. The children of Israel are not merely figures of history—they are us. We must know this truth, because without it, we remain lost, wandering in a world that wants to strip us of our identity and power.

The Bible, the sacred text that has guided and sustained generations, tells us of a people who were chosen, not for their perfection, but for their purpose. The Israelites were a people who went through struggles, oppression, and exile, but they were always called to return to their roots, to remember their God-given identity, and to fulfill their purpose in the world.

The Importance of Knowing Our History
In Hosea 4:6, the Lord says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” When we lose sight of our history, our roots, we are left vulnerable. When we forget where we come from, we lose our direction. The identity of the black man has been purposefully obscured, not just by history but by systems designed to erase our understanding of our true heritage. But God calls us to remember. The truth of who we are is scattered across time and space—waiting to be recognized.

If we look at the Bible, we see the story of the Hebrews, the people who were enslaved in Egypt, the same people who came out of oppression and into liberation. The children of Israel were often oppressed and cast aside, but they were always called to stand up, to remember their covenant with God, and to walk in their purpose. The trials of our ancestors were not in vain. They laid the foundation for the greatness that was always meant to be ours.

Let us understand the importance of unity and identity. Think of a tree. The tree is strong and fruitful when its roots run deep into the soil. The tree is connected to its foundation, and everything it produces—the branches, the leaves, the fruit—is a result of the strength and health of those roots. If the tree forgets its roots or becomes disconnected, it will wither. In the same way, we as black people must know our roots to stand strong. Our roots are found in the Bible, in the heritage of the Israelites, and in the unbreakable bond with our Creator.

In the New Testament, Paul speaks of the church as the “body of Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:12-14). Each member of the body is essential. If one part suffers, the whole body suffers. If we are to succeed, we must see ourselves as part of a greater family, a greater team. Just as the members of a team must work together for a common goal, we must work together to reclaim our true identity and purpose as a people.

A Call to Action: Reclaim Our Family, Our Team
Brothers and sisters, it is time for us to return to our roots. It is time to align with our true family. In 1 Peter 2:9, the Bible says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people.” This is who we are. We are not meant to be lost or disconnected. We are meant to rise up as the children of the Most High, to know who we are, and to work together to fulfill the mission given to us by God.

Our success, both individually and collectively, is rooted in our unity and our understanding of our true identity. A house divided cannot stand, but a house united—built on the foundation of truth and purpose—will endure. As we align ourselves with our true identity, as we embrace our biblical heritage and understand the role we play in God’s plan, we begin to see the blessings unfold. It’s no coincidence that we’ve faced oppression for so long, but it is also no coincidence that we are rising up in this moment of history.

In the book of Isaiah 60:1-3, we are called to “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.” This is our time. The world needs our strength, our wisdom, our unity. But we can only achieve this by accepting who we are, understanding our history, and working together as a team, as a family.

Accept Your True Identity for True Success
I encourage you today to accept your true identity. Know that you are not lost. You are part of something much greater, a people chosen by God with a divine purpose. When we remember our roots, when we come together as a family and work in unity, we will see the success God has always intended for us.

Remember, a team determines success. We are all part of this great team, the family of God’s chosen people. Our strength lies in our unity, our shared purpose, and our commitment to each other. So let us rise up, reclaim our identity, and fulfill the role that has been set before us. The world is waiting for the original black man to step into his purpose, to walk in the light of truth, and to lead with power.

Together, we will find true success—success that honors our roots, our family, and the God who created us. Let us embrace this truth, for it is our inheritance and our destiny to handle family business.

Throughout history, there has been many ways for people to express their identity, their heritage, and their unity. For many, clothing isn’t just fabric—they are a symbol of pride, resistance, and belonging. And for us, as people of African and Asiatic descent, there is a deep and ancient connection between our heritage. Afro-Asiatic apparel, in its many forms, represents more than just fashion—it is a visible declaration of our roots, our shared legacy and it is about aligning ourselves with our true history and our rightful place in this world. It is about remembering where we come from and acknowledging the strength, the wisdom, and the beauty braided in our ancestral roots.

Think about it—when we wear something that symbolizes our heritage, we are not only connecting to our past, but we are also signaling to the world and to ourselves that we are proud of who we are. For too long, the black man has been stripped of his true identity and has been shown an image of who he is not—disconnected from his history, his roots, and his purpose. It’s more than apparel—it is a symbol of unity and pride. It’s a reminder that we are not isolated individuals but part of a greater, interconnected whole.

In Ephesians 4:3, the Apostle Paul encourages us to “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” There is so much power in aligning with our roots—the very essence of who we are. It is a small but powerful first step toward the larger journey of self-awareness and empowerment.

In the same way that a tree’s branches grow from its roots, our growth as individuals and as a community depends on our connection to our heritage. Without understanding and embracing our roots, we risk losing our way in the world.

Let’s represent to remind ourselves and the world who we are, where we come from, and what we stand for. This is not just a matter of personal pride—it’s a collective movement. When we are together, we create a culture of remembrance. In remembrance of Him. We inspire one another to act, to work together, and to fulfill the purpose for which we were created. We align with one another in a way that transcends individualism, focusing instead on community, on shared heritage, and on shared destiny.

We are not only celebrating who we were, but we are shaping who we will be. Knowing that each step we take toward reclaiming our identity, what connects us to our roots, is a step closer to true success.
