IYKYK, every day I study words—because I’ve learned that it’s more than just words on a page. It’s living and breathing. The Holy Spirit guides me through it, illuminating truths that I would’ve missed on my own. I’m telling you, it’s like having the best teacher right by your side, teaching you how to rightly divide the Word, to understand it, to break it down, and apply it to your life.

When I think about the verse, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1), it hits different. That’s not just some nice verse. That’s a foundation. That means everything starts with the Word. Everything I need to know, everything that’s been laid out for me in this life, is in the Word. That’s the starting point. I’ve come to realize that when you don’t understand the Word, it’s like trying to put together a puzzle without knowing what the picture looks like. But when you study it, when the Holy Spirit leads you, it’s like you’re seeing the pieces fall into place.

Now, there’s something powerful about studying the Word. It’s not just for knowledge’s sake. It’s for clarity. It’s for direction. Every time I dig into it, it gives me a sense of purpose and guidance. You’ve heard people talk about being “lost,” right? Well, I used to feel that way, but when I started rightly dividing the Word, it’s like I found my compass. It shines a light on my path, like a flashlight in the dark.

You know, I remember the parable of the wise and foolish builders. Jesus said the wise man builds his house on the rock, and the foolish one builds on the sand. You can think of that rock as the Word of God. When you build your life on it, you’re setting yourself up for something strong, something that stands firm when life shakes. The storms will come, no doubt about that, but the difference is—when you study the Word, when you truly get an understanding of it, you’re building on a foundation that won’t be moved. It’s the rock. The sand will wash away, but the Word? The Word stands strong.

When I study and rightly divide the Word, I show myself approved. It’s not about impressing anybody or trying to look good in front of others. It’s about personal growth, spiritual maturity. It’s about aligning myself with God’s will and understanding how He wants me to walk, how He wants me to live, how He wants me to think. That’s the approval I’m seeking. And trust me, it’s paying off. I’m walking in a peace and clarity that I didn’t have before.

And here’s the thing—clarity is priceless. There’s so much noise in the world. There are so many distractions, opinions, and philosophies pulling you in every direction. But when you study the Word, it’s like putting on glasses that bring everything into focus. The truth becomes clear, and the lies stand out. I see things that I couldn’t see before. It gives me light, and that light—let me tell you—guides my decisions, gives me wisdom in moments of doubt, and helps me navigate through the confusion of life.

It’s not just about reading the Word; it’s about letting the Holy Spirit guide you through it. It’s about allowing that Word to come alive in you. And the more I allow that, the more I grow. Every day, I feel stronger in my faith, more rooted in my purpose. I’ve got clarity in my heart, and I’ve got light shining the way. And every time I study it, I’m reminded of just how much I need it.

So, that’s why I make time for it. It’s not an option for me. It’s a necessity. The Word has been guiding me, changing me, and paying off in ways I never could’ve imagined. It gives me clarity, it gives me purpose, and ultimately—it gives me light. And trust me, I wouldn’t trade that for anything
